Description
If you need to mow smaller lawn areas where using a lawn mower isn’t practical, the STIHL FS 40 grass trimmer is the right choice. Weighing only 4.4 kg, this gasoline trimmer is also ideal for edging around trees and trimming paths and stairs in your garden.
The petrol trimmer features a convenient stop button, allowing the FS 40’s engine to be ready for use immediately after a pause, without needing to operate any switches. The one-hand multifunction handle ensures easy operation, while the loop handle allows you to guide the trimmer precisely.

Product Information
The grass trimmer is powered by a high-performance STIHL 2-MIX engine, which is also fuel-efficient. For longer gardening sessions, we recommend using the optional single carrying strap, which allows for comfortable operation during extended use.
To make starting the trimmer easier and reduce the effort required, you can also retrofit the STIHL ErgoStart.

STIHL 2-Mix-Motor
With the STIHL 2-MIX engine, you reduce exhaust emissions as well as fuel consumption, lowering operating costs. This two-stroke engine is designed to be low-maintenance and uses fuel efficiently even at high power. It runs on a mixture of gasoline and engine oil. The STIHL 2-MIX engine meets the strict EU Stage V emission standards.

One-Hand Multifunction Handle
Thanks to the one-hand multifunction handle, you can operate your device easily and reliably with a single hand. Since all relevant controls are integrated into the handle, it is suitable for both right- and left-handed users.

Loop Handle
In tight spaces, such as when trimming between bushes, shrubs, or around park benches, the loop handle is highly advantageous. Its practical grip position allows you to maneuver the device freely and operate it easily and precisely, even in confined areas.

The stop button allows you to quickly and easily turn off your device, for example, during a short break. Since the button returns to its original position after being pressed, the engine is immediately ready to start again. This provides greater comfort after work interruptions and increases your work efficiency.
